Mixing patterns is not something you can do every day. However, when it is black + white prints, you can kind of take the reigns + be a little creative. Mixing stripes, polka dots + check is perfectly fine when doing it carefully.
See some of my tips for mixing prints below:
- Pay attention to proportion.A big check print means pairing it back to smaller polka dots.
- Only mix prints when utilizing neutral colors like black + white. Other neutrals would be grey + white, nude + grey, grey + black, white + nude.
- Add one pop color to your pattern filled outfit. I naturally always gravitate to red, but a hot pink would work too!
So now that you have all my tips, I just want to talk about this incredible leather skirt for a moment. I found this incredibly cool check leather school at a vintage store, but I am also loving this leather skirt by Marc Jacobs. Never underestimate the timelessness of amazing vintage pieces!!
How will you mix prints this upcoming Spring 15?
